From the mountains of Southern California to the coastal heat of Brazil and everything in between, Pássaro Gigante moves through the Americas with the restless energy of a great migratory bird. Their sound has psychedelic Latin roots, a living conversation between original compositions by Southern Brazilian composer Gustavo Chaise, cult Brazilian classics, psychedelic Chicha from Peru, and the raw, electric energy of North American rock.
The band's members arrive from across the Western Hemisphere: North to South America and that geography is felt in every note. There's no single accent here, no single rhythm, but a natural collision of languages, textures, and traditions that resolves into something completely its own.
A band like Pássaro Gigante could only take flight in the City of Angels, Los Angeles, California where the world folds into itself, where many of Gustavo's original songs have been born, and where International Roots Music stops being a category and starts being a living entity.
