In 2017, Fernando Noronha traveled from Chicago to New Orleans filming the road movie Highway 61: from Chicago to New Orleans. The project is a result of a successful crowdfunding campaign and a journey into North American Blues history. The film will premiere in Brazil on March 23rd in Porto Alegre. Worldhaus Music team attended the 30th edition of Folk Alliance International in Kansas City. It was five days of networking, panels, shows and lots of exchange between artists.
Michael Hardie, Myla Hardie and Gustavo Chaise had the opportunity to perform their songs in showcases during the event. Myla performed songs from her newest project "Hardie Theater", that blends American roots music and music from the South of Brazil. With the album "7 Songs For Sylvia" about to be released, Michael Hardie performed tracks "It's No Wonder You're Scared" and "The Day That I Left You" live. Brazilian artist Gustavo Chaise played his original songs, such as "Toda a Minha Consideração" and performed his own rendition of the classic Gaucho Rock anthem "Amigo Punk". Gustavo also had the chance to jam with other bands that played in The Carnaval Room (hosted by Making Movies), such as Grammy-winners Los Texmaniacs, Mireya Ramos and Ensemble Iberica.
Worldhaus had a booth in the trade fair for the second year in a row, where the team had the chance to meet people from the industry and share their story and mission. The conference was filled with great moments, special people and great music. We can't wait for 2019 in Montreal, Canada.
Brazilian newspaper Jornal do Comércio features Myla Hardie and Big Dreams, the first single from her latest project, Hardie Theater. The article also refers to Myla as a citizen of the world as she has lived in many places around the globe such as: New York, Berlin, Porto Alegre (Brazil) and now Los Angeles.
Worldhaus Music team is confirmed for SXSW 2018. Myla Hardie, the Worldhaus CEO, has a long history with SXSW. This year she will be attending with the APEX Brazil delegation accompanied by our Brazil office manager, Luci Lazzaris and long-time-partner from Marquise 51 Records, Mari Martinez. She believes that the conference is "food for the brain" and a great place to change your perspective on current trends in the industry. SXSW takes place between 9-18 of March, in Worldhaus Music's hometown: Austin, Texas.
“Big Dreams” is Hardie Theater's first single, Myla's newest project. She plays with the Brazilian rock band The Chaise Brothers: Gustavo, Maurício and Rodrigo Chaise. The song demonstrates the central concept of Hardie Theater: the meeting of North American roots music with South American. Diminishing borders through creating a new definition of Americana.
Worldhaus' artists will be showcasing at Folk Alliance 2018. Myla Hardie, Gustavo Chaise and the great singer-songwriter Michael Hardie, are confirmed to play on the 30º edition of the conference. Folk Alliance happens every year bringing community and music together.
Myla Hardie is back in Los Angeles and, on her way there, she recorded an acoustic version of the original song “Desert Wind”. She filmed in the historic Pioneertown, California, while crossing the Southwestern desert along old route 66 from Austin, Texas to Los Angeles, California.
